Gregory Polanco

When most teams face the Pittsburgh Pirates, the first guy they think of is Andrew McCutchen, and for good reason.

He is one of the best players in baseball, winning the N.L. MVP in 2013. McCutchen is also hot since the month of August began. In 110 plate appearances, he is hitting .300 with 7 extra base hits, and 11 RBI’s.

I’m more worried about Polanco in this series. He gets on base at a .336 clip, and he is a threat to run at the top of the lineup with 20 stolen bases.

In 64 August plate appearances he is hitting .386 with 22 hits, three home runs, and 7 RBI’s.

Polanco is a career .350 hitter in ten games vs. the Diamondbacks with one home run and four RBI’s. His average against the D’backs is his 3rd best among all teams in baseball.
