The 24-year old fireballer made the jump from Double A Mobile to Arizona at the end of April. After some mixed degrees of success for the first month, Burgos went on the 15-day disabled list at the end of May with shoulder tendinitis. He wasn’t terrible upon his return but he did get cuffed around in his last two appearances, giving up four runs on six hits in only one inning of work. He was optioned to Reno on July 19th and has since appeared in ten games for the Aces. Control has been an issue with ten walks in only 10 1/3 innings pitched, including four in one outing on August 7th. The one thing that Burgos has in his favor is the ability to strike someone out in big spot. Of course, that is provided he does not walk him.
