The 2015 Home Run Derby Champion has hit the skids in the month of August. In 71 plate appearances this month, he is hitting only .164 with 22 strikeouts. During the recent two game sweep at the hands of the Kansas City Royals, Frazier went 1 for 9 with four strikeouts. The All-Star third baseman is tied with Colorado’s Nolan Arenado for second in the NL in home runs with 29, one behind Washington’s Bryce Harper. Unlike Votto, Frazier struggles against D-back pitching with a .213 batting average in 97 career plate appearances. He had only one hit in nine at-bats with five strikeouts in the teams’ series earlier this month.
