Diamondbacks Vs Reds: The Pitching Matchups

Game 2: RHP Rubby De La Rosa (10-5 4.40 ERA) vs. RHP David Holmberg (1-2 5.95 ERA) 4:10 P.M. MST
Rubby De La Rosa has been the Diamondbacks best starter this season with a ERA for the year at 4.40. That shows that an upgrade to the starting staff is in order this winter.
That doesn’t mean De La Rosa wont be apart of the 2016 rotation, and he should. In his last 6 starts, Rubby is 4-0 with a 2.54 ERA.
De La Rosa is generating a ton of groundballs, and is doing a better job of keeping the ball in the park.
De La Rosa ranks 15th in baseball with 3.7 pitches per plate appearance. That leads the D-backs staff, and as a result, he is able to get deep into ball games better than any other starter.
The D-backs will need that going forward. He still leads the team in wins (10), and innings pitched (149.1).
David Holmberg who pitched in one game for the Diamondbacks back in 2013, and was apart of the deal that sent Daniel Hudson to Arizona.
