Game 4: RHP Chase Anderson (5-5 4.51 ERA) vs. RHP Raisel Iglesias (3-4 4.21 ERA)
Chase Anderson was called back up from Reno after being demoted yesterday. He will start in the finale with Hellickson on the D.L.
Anderson has really struggled in July and August with a 5.40 ERA in 16.2 innings pitched. Anderson is 5-5 with a 4.51 ERA this season. Anderson really dominated early in the season, after a successful rookie year but hasn’t been the same pitcher sense.
The Diamondbacks might regret calling Anderson back up. He has mechanical issues to work on, and some time in Triple A with the Reno Aces would have helped.
Anderson faced the Reds on the last homestand going 7 innings and allowing no earned runs earning the win. He will have to gain back that form this weekend.
Dont be suprised if the Reds start Brayan Pena in this game. In 6 at bats against Anderson he is hitting .333.
Iglesias is one of the exciting young pitchers in the game, and has a bright future. He is riding a 12 innings scoreless streak. He threw seven scoreless frames earning a no-decision against the Royals.
David Peralta and A.J. Pollock are both hitting .500 against Iglesias in four combined at bats, and Ender Inciarte is hitting .333 against him in three at bats.
