3-Chris Owings

Is the season-long slump over? Over his last 15 games, Owings is hitting .309 with eight RBI’s and six runs scored. He still strikes out ant an alarming rate, with 107 whiffs in only 398 at-bats. However, his 14 steals rank third on the club and his 47 runs scored is a respectable number considering where he hits in the order. If the D-backs are to make a serious run at the division title, they need Owings to keep up his recent strong play at the plate. The team will need every bit of run support for a pitching staff that figures to be running on fumes shortly.
