Cardinals at Diamondbacks: 5 Players to Watch

He was ranked as the Cardinals’ #2 prospect by mlb.com when he was called up from Triple A Memphis on July 20th. Since then, Piscotty has made himself a fixture in the Redbirds’ lineup. Playing primarily left field, Piscotty is hitting .324 in 113 plate appearances with four home runs and 18 RBI’s. On Sunday, his two home runs and five RBI’s helped his team avoid a sweep at the hands of the Padres, winning by a score of 10-3. All four of his long balls have come over the past week, indicating that it isn’t taking long for Piscotty to adjust to Major League pitching. Had he started the season in St. Louis, he could have been a serious Rookie of the Year candidate.
