The rookie center fielder has enjoyed a nice season. Burns leads the A’s in batting average at .298 and on-base percentage at .338. His 25 stolen bases are second in the American League behind Jose Altuve‘s 33. Burns was taken in the 32nd round of 2011 Draft by the Washington Nationals from Mercer University and came to the Oakland organization in December 2013 in exchange for reliever Jerry Blevins. He is batting .293 with an OBP of .347 during the month of August.
