The Arizona Diamondbacks began last week over the elusive .500 number. They begin this week on the opposite side of it, which is more familar territory for them in 2015. They also manage to squeeze in a day off on Thursday, the first time they are idle on a day since August 13th. The D-backs are now 63-67, 9 1/2 games behind the Los Angeles Dodgers and with no realistic hope for a playoff spot.

This week begins in Colorado where the Snakes will be making up a couple of games from their earlier trip to Colorado. Arizona plays a doubleheader with the Rockies on Tuesday and after Wednesday’s contest they get their long-waited day off. They spend the weekend in Chicago to play the seemingly playoff-bound Cubs before returning home. This is also the week where rosters expand, bringing up some potential promising rookies. Here are five players to watch over the next seven days.
