The Verdict
The quartet of rookies have been featured almost exclusively as pinch hitters. The last one of these four to start was actually Brito, who went 1-for-3 in that game. Drury hasn’t started in over a week and O’Brien has taken advantage of his pinch hitting appearances. It’s difficult to decipher their talents if they’re not getting consistent playing time.
O’Brien is deserving of at least a couple of starts. In his first two pinch hittijg appearances, he drove in a run each. Hopefully, the Dbacks decide to start O’Brien and Drury sometime this upcoming week. As for the 29-year old rookie Romak, he struck out twice his two appearances in September.
