There is something about the D-backs’ catchers and being reborn in Arizona. Welington Castillo started horribly with the Seattle Mariners and was traded to the Snakes in June. Salty had about a horrendous a start as you can imagine, hitting under .100 when he was released by the Miami Marlins. He has since raised it to .220 and has been hot in September. Salty has seven hits in his last 16 at-bats with three home runs. Though probably not in Arizona’s plans in 2016, he has played well enough to earn a contract somewhere.
