The trade for the veteran outfielder has worked out very well for the Padres. Kemp leads the club in RBI’s with 94 and has slugged 21 home runs, second behind Upton. Though his contract is astronomical with him making almost $85 million dollars over the next four years, his numbers suggest that his health is intact and it won’t necessarily be a bad deal throughout the remainder of it. Though hitting .240 vs. the Snakes in 2015, Kemp routinely wears out their pitching with 29 home runs and 89 RBI’s in 529 lifetime plate appearances.
