Diamondbacks’ Sneaky Good Prospects

#3 – Brad Keller P Kane County Cougars
Brad Keller represents everything that modern baseball is about. He is big and strong and he is developing ahead of schedule. The Diamondbacks took Keller in the 8th round of the 2013 Draft as a prep pitcher out of Georgia. When he came out he had two pitches that were at least acceptable, highlighted by an 88 mph fastball. He now gets clocked in the mid-to-high 90’s.
He needs to work on his ability to miss bats, that is where is secondary and tertiary offerings come in. He pitched to a 2.60 ERA and 1.16 WHIP this season, largely in part to his size and extreme downhill plane. He stands 6’5″ and weighs 230 lbs. Being only 20 years old, he is still quite a ways from even being considered for a call up by the Diamondbacks. If he keeps developing though, his name will become popular within prospect rankings circles.
