Arizona has received a slew of rookie contributions in 2015, none more important than Chafin. He has become one of manager Chip Hale‘s most trusted arms out of the bullpen, appearing in 63 games second only to Brad Ziegler‘s 65. Chafin has also thrown a relief-high 73 1/3 innings and his 2.82 ERA is second-best out of the ‘pen to Ziggy’s 1.91. The lefty has struggled as of late with five earned runs allowed on five hits and six walks over his last seven games. This is one pitcher that, despite his issues down the stretch, has assured himself of a spot in the bullpen in 2016 even if the team decides to bring in a proven closer.
