The 31-year old right-hander appears to be fully recovered from 2012 Tommy John surgery. He saved 24 games in 2015 with all but one of them coming with the Detroit Tigers. Soria was traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates on July 30th and he appeared in 29 games for the team. He allowed 23 hits and seven walks with 28 strikeouts in 26 2/3 innings for the Wild Card Buccos. Soria is a two-time All-Star with 202 saves in eight seasons. He probably will get more than what Gregerson got from Houston as this year’s reliever crop isn’t nearly as deep as last year’s. However, the Snakes might be able to get Soria for less than the $10 million dollars than they would be giving Martin Prado if he were still with the team.
