Paul Goldschmidt Wins 2015 Silver Slugger Award for First Base

Arizona Diamondbacks’ first-baseman Paul Goldschmidt continues to rack up the accolades after an excellent 2015 season. This time, Goldschmidt has added another Silver Slugger to his accolades.


Paul Goldschmidt is racking up a laundry list of accolades for his string of excellent seasons. After another great campaign in 2015, Goldschmidt is a finalist for National League MVP, won a Gold Glove and now has won the second Silver Slugger of his career.

The Silver Slugger goes to the best offensive player at each position. By winning the award for a second time, Goldschmidt becomes the first player in Arizona Diamondbacks’ history to win multiple Silver Sluggers.

Just how good was Goldschmidt in 2015? He set career highs in several statistical categories, including batting .321, slugging .570, an on-base percentage of .435, an OPS of 1.005, walking 118 times  and stealing 21 bases.

Projecting out to the future of Goldschmidt’s career and he should be in line for the Silver Slugger, Gold Glove and an MVP finalist for many years to come. Goldschmidt’s drive to work on his craft and get better continue to define his career as a member of the Diamondbacks.

By statistically ranking among the league’s best, Goldschmidt has established himself as one of the best players in Major League Baseball. The only thing next for him could be a brand new contract, instead of the bargain deal that he is currently playing on.
