Players to watch and prediction

For the Diamondbacks, Yasmany Tomas is hitting .304 (5-f0r-23) over his last seven days, and he is 9-f0r-18 (.500) in his career at Marlins Park.

Despite leading the league with 27 walks, Paul Goldschmidt hasn’t looked like the MVP hitter we have enjoyed over the past few seasons. He his a career .316 hitter in 22 games against the Marlins. Look for him to get it going in this series.

For the Marlins, former Diamondback Martin Prado comes into this series leading the National League in hitting at .410 in 20 games, going 14-for-24 over his last five games.

Giancarlo Stanton has to be mentioned when playing the Marlins, and he has done damage this season with eight home runs and a .862 OPS. During Stanton’s current seven-game hitting streak, he has five home runs and 10 runs batted in. In 33 career games against the D-backs, he has 11 home runs.

Christian Yelich is tenth in the league in hitting and is getting on base at a .471 clip. J.T. Realmuto has hit safely in his last seven games (15-for-29)

Prediction: In a desperate need of wins, I think the Diamondbacks will play well in a place that they have had success, and sweep the series.
