Pitching matchups:

Monday: Archie Bradley (0-0, 10.38 ERA) vs. Tyler Chatwood (4-2, 2.15 ERA)

Tuesday: Rubby De la Rosa (3-4, 4.60 ERA) vs. Chris Rusin (1-0, 4.43 ERA)

Wednesday: Robbie Ray (1-2, 4.70 ERA) vs. Chad Betties (3-2, 4.40 ERA)

The Diamondbacks will be facing an early-season Cy Young favorite tonight. Tyler Chatwood’s ERA+ is a near-unfathomable 232. To put into context how good that is, Pedro Martinez’s ERA in 1999 was 243. Archie Bradley allowed five runs in his first start of the season last week, and hasn’t had much luck in his big-league career thus far. Don’t look that to change tonight.

Rubby De la Rosa had a string of pretty solid starts before allowing four runs to Miami last week. The advanced metrics on his counterpart, Chris Rusin, are fantastic. He has an above-average ERA+ of 113 and a FIP of 2.89, indicating he is drastically over-performing his 4.43 ERA.

Wednesday will show a matchup of two good-but-not-great pitchers. Ray has been solid this year, save for two five-run outings. Rusin has been above-average this season with a 113 ERA+– indicating that a 4.40 ERA is passable in Colorado.
