Pitching Matchups

Monday: Chad Green (0-0) vs. Robbie Ray (1-2, 4.84 ERA)

Tuesday: Michael Pineda (1-4, 6.28 ERA) vs. Zack Greinke (3-3, 5.26 ERA)

Wednesday: Nathan Eovaldi (3-2, 4.85 ERA) vs. Shelby Miller (1-4, 6.94 ERA)

Chad Green will make his first major league start on Monday. He has impressed in the minors, pitching to a 1.22 ERA this season. Robbie Ray has been dismal in home games this season (8.31 ERA).

Greinke’s numbers against this current Yankees team aren’t stellar. He’s allowed them to hit .296 against him in his career with three homers and 13 RBI. Pineda has been pretty effective on the road this season, racking up a 3.27 ERA in away games.

We’re all familiar with Shelby Miller’s disappointing season, but consider this: his ERA in April was 8.69, and in May it’s down to 4.70. So maybe he’s becoming the player the Diamondbacks’ front office thought they were getting. Eovaldi has had a tough time against the Diamondbacks, especially Jean Segura, who has three hits in seven at-bats in his career.
