Tale of the Tape

Record: Diamondbacks (24-32), Cubs (37-15)

Offense: Diamondbacks (.265/.327/.435, fifth in NL in runs), Cubs (.256/.354/.424, second in NL in runs)

Pitching: Diamondbacks (4.76 ERA, 13th in NL), Cubs (2.60 ERA, first in NL)

Don’t let those seemingly middling batting stats fool you. The Cubs are scoring runs at an alarming rate, averaging 5.46 per game, best in the National League. Pair that up with a ridiculous 2.60 team ERA and you can easily see why this team has only lost 15 games through the first two months of the season. Now, the Diamondbacks’ offense isn’t anything to be sneezed at either, but they clearly don’t have the arms that the Cubs have.
