Pitching Matchups

Friday: Archie Bradley (2-0, 6.11 ERA) vs. John Lackey (5-2, 3.16 ERA)

Saturday: Edwin Escobar (0-1, 18.90 ERA) vs. Jason Hammel (6-1, 2.09 ERA)

Sunday: Patrick Corbin (2-5, 4.96 ERA) vs. Jake Arrieta (9-0, 1.56 ERA)

It’s hard to imagine a tougher matchup for the Diamonbacks than what they got. Every starter for the Cubs is pitching incredibly–Lackey’s 3.16 ERA is the highest for the whole staff. Everybody who knows anything about baseball knows about Arrieta’s dominance since last year’s All Star break, and his stats show it. Bradley, Escobar and Corbin will have to pitch about as well as anyone can just to keep their team in a close game.
