Players to Watch

For Arizona, Michael Bourn presents an interesting case in this series. He’s hitting .357 in his last 28 at-bats, bringing his average on the year to a fair .264—far better than what the Diamondbacks expected when they signed the veteran. Not just because of his recent success should you keep an eye out for Bourn—he has a .600 and .462 batting average in

the past five years against Johnny Cueto and Jeff Samardzija respectively. Jake Lamb also remains on fire, batting .400 with three dingers and ten RBIs in his last 25 at-bats. Shelby Miller, Friday night’s starter, has owned the Giants so far in his short career—so be on the lookout for a redeeming start from him. He’s held Brandon Belt and Buster Posey to a .071 and .077 batting average respectively.

For the Giants, keep an eye out for Cueto. The Giants nabbed him up after he turned down a surprising offer from the Diamondbacks, and it has turned out to be a great signing so far. It’ll be interesting to see how he fares against Arizona. Angel Pagan, San Francisco’s Center Fielder, has been on fire of late, hitting .458 across 24 at-bats, while only striking out twice.
