Jon Duplantier, RHP, Kane County

A third-round pick in the 2016 draft, Duplantier is considered by MLB as the Diamondbacks’ number eight prospect.

To start the season at Class A Kane County, the 6-3, 225 pounder out of Newark, Del. and Rice University, recorded a scoreless streak of 15.1 innings in his first three appearances. Coming into play Thursday, Duplantier fanned 20 hitters in those three outings, and allowed four walks. Opposing batters, in those three appearances, hit.104 against him. During his third appearance, Kane County eventually beat Beloit, 1-0 in 17 innings.

After drafted last June, Duplantier was assigned to Hillsboro, the Diamondbacks‘ rookie Short Season club, and he made one appearance (one inning, no hits, walks, strike outs).
