The Arizona Diamondbacks and Los Angeles Dodgers meet for the second time this season.
After a 4-6 road trip, the Arizona Diamondbacks will entertain the Los Angeles Dodgers for a weekend, three game series. This set marks the only time the Dodgers will come to Phoenix on a weekend this season.
The Diamondbacks come into Friday night’s game with a 6-1 record at Chase Field. That record matches the 2008 club for the best home start in franchise history.
In the season’s opening week, the Diamondbacks beat up on the San Francisco Giants and Cleveland Indians. Clutch hits with RISP and ownage of the middle innings got the job done.
The Diamondbacks have the majors best home batting average (.313), on-base percentage (.369) and slugging percentage (.504). In addition, no team has scored more runs per game at home (6.86).
Arizona may struggle to win games at Dodger Stadium, but they have taken care of business at Chase Field. The Diamondbacks are 4-2 in their last six home games against Dave Robert’s ball club. The Dodgers lead the all-time series (150-188) and have more wins at Chase Field (88-79). The Diamondbacks are 71-98 all-time at Dodger Stadium.
In their last eight home games versus N.L. West competition, the Diamondbacks are 7-1 and 11-3 in their last 14 games. That dates back to last season.
Hopefully, the friendly confines of Chase Field will help heat up the Snakes bats. After all, with a humidor coming, the Diamondbacks cannot miss any chances to hit a home run.
