There is no question the Diamondbacks have missed A.J. Pollock. The premium center fielder produces at an all-star level in the leadoff spot and is one of the most underrated players in the senior circuit.

Last year, the Diamondbacks did not have a great option to replace Pollock, who missed the majority of last season. In the offseason, Hazen signed veteran Gregor Blanco to a minor league contract, and it has paid dividends.

In his last 14 starts, entering Friday, Blanco was hitting .302 and has hit safely in his last six starts and seven of nine. In 31 games, the former San Francisco Giant is getting on base at a .371 clip and has almost as many walks (14) as strikeouts (18).

On top of his great production, Blanco plays a great center field and provides veteran leadership.
