Dismal Outcome with RISP
In the month of August, the Diamondbacks have lost 12 games. They are 29-for-157 (.185) with RISP. This is particularly hurtful to the team as they have been outscored 112-74.
The Diamondbacks are leading the National League in doubles (249) and triples (31) this season. They are only trailing the Houston Astros (266) in doubles across both divisions, while they are tied with the Cincinnati Reds in triples.
With so many extra-base hits, it’s clear the Diamondbacks can put runners in scoring position, but its still unclear as to why they can’t drive them in.
