Number 4: The Rockies Series
The Rockies have always been a team that has known how to hit the baseball and get runs. Especially within their own ballpark in Coors Field.
During the sweep of the Rockies, the Diamondbacks starting pitchers decided that they had enough.
In those three games, the starters only gave up three runs, one of which was unearned in 16.1 innings.
This gave the starters a combined ERA of 1.10 for the series.
The thing that makes this starting pitching even better is that it was done without Greinke or Ray on the mound and it didn’t allow Nolan Arenado or Charlie Blackmon to gain any ground on Paul Goldschmidt in the NL MVP race.
