Game Two: Zack Godley vs. Jhoulys Chacin
Zack Godley struggled in his last outing and earned a rather strange final line. In six innings, he walked six batters, gave up three hits and struck out seven, but only gave up one run. Godley earned his second straight win and will look for his third on Saturday.
While the Dodgers are in their worst slump of the season, Chacin struck out eight batters and allowed three runs (two earned) including a home run to Chris Taylor.
Earning the win against Alex Wood was no easy task, but the Padres gave him six runs in support of his performance. It’s unlikely the Padres offense will have the same success against Godley.
Chacin has a 4.50 ERA against the Diamondbacks this season with a 1-1 record. He has pitched seven innings in both games, but the offense has been getting starters out of games early in the current streak.
