In his last five starts, Rockies’ right hander Jon Gray is 3-2 with a 2.43 ERA and gave up only one run in six innings against the Dodgers. He won a duel with Clayton Kershaw.
Since Aug. 5, Gray is 4-2 with a 2.55 ERA (42.1 IP/12 ER). Gray is just 1-2 with a 5.40 ERA in four career starts against the Diamondbacks. He faced Arizona on Sept. 2 at Coors Field and got the loss. In that outing, Gray surrendered three runs on five hits, three walks and six strikeouts in five innings.
In his only career start at Chase Field on June 30, Gray won 6-3 and went six innings. He allowed two runs on seven hits and struck out 10.
Meanwhile, Taijuan Walker recovered from a rocky beginning in his last start against the Dodgers in Los Angeles. He ended up completing six innings and allowed just one run. The right hander has won his last three starts, and he owns a 2.32 career ERA in five career starts against the Rockies.
Red hot outfielder Carlos Gonzalez owns a .364 career average with one home run in 11 at-bats against Walker. D.J. LeMahieu owns a .357 career average and Arenado is a career .300 hitter in 10 at-bats.
