The Bench

If recent postseason games have told us anything, bench players typically play a role. Whether it is a left defensive sub, a pinch runner or a big pinch hit.

Here is who I think will be on Torey Lovullo’s bench:

Gregor Blanco – OF

Adam Rosales – INF

Chris Herrmann – UTL

John Ryan Murphy – C

Brandon Drury – IF

Rey Fuentes – OF

Jeremy Hazelbaker – OF

Disclaimer: If catcher Jeff Mathis and infielder/outfielder Chris Owings are ready for the wild card game, which I do not see happening, then I would have Mathis take Murphy’s spot and Owings replace Fuentes.
