Game 3: Patrick Corbin vs. Dan Straily

The Marlins will have their best shot at avoiding a sweep with Dan Straily on the mound against Patrick Corbin.

Corbin has had a streaky season. He’s coming off a mediocre performance in San Diego where he gave up two home runs, including a three-run shot to Hunter Renfroe in a 4-2 loss.

However, Corbin’s 4.14 ERA just edges out Straily’s 4.17 ERA and Corbin has 13 more strikeouts on the season. If Corbin can pull off the win, it would be his 15th of the season and a career high.

Again, these teams don’t have much experience facing each other, but Giancarlo Stanton has taken advantage of facing Corbin in the past.

Stanton is batting .357 with 2 HR in 14 AB against the Diamondbacks lefty. Luckily, the Arizona Diamondbacks don’t have an issue hitting against righties.

Prediction: The Diamondbacks should take the first two games, the third will depend on which Patrick Corbin takes the mound. But, hopefully Paul Goldschmidt takes the MVP reigns and the team pops champagne.

"No juiced ball for the Arizona Diamondbacks and unbroken franchise HR record"
