Solving Story

For the most part, Zack Greinke has dominated the Rockies this season. In 131 at-bats against Greinke, the Rockies hit .229 with a .241 on-base percentage. Greinke struck out 37 Rockies and walked only two.

That is dominance folks.

If Greinke can keep the ball in the yard, he should turn in a great performance. Trevor Story has taken Greinke deep too many times. Remember Story’s first week in baseball? Yeah we do not have to go relieve those painful memories.

Every pitcher has a nemises or two. For Greinke, Story is the veteran right-hander’s kryptonite. The numbers are hard to explain.

No NL player sturck out more times than Story (191) during the regular season. But he only struck out four times in 14 at-bats with two home runs and three RBI. Story hit .400 with two bombs and six RBI against Greinke in 2016.

Greinke can win this matchup the way he has finished hitters this season, with a nasty slider down and away.

Hopefully Story is not the guy that burns Greinke and the D-backs.
