J.D. Martinez

Can you even talk about the Diamondbacks without discussing J.D. Martinez? Probably not. Martinez has been a vital part of the team’s success in the second half. He has fit right in with the Arizona Diamondbacks and has been leaving his name all over their records in just 62 games with the team.

Coming off of one of the hottest September performances Major League Baseball has ever seen, Martinez is a no-brainer to keep your eye on.

Aside from the 45 home runs he hit in the regular season, or the 16 that came in September alone, Martinez is tearing it up.

He typically performs better against lefties, 33 of his home runs have come off right-handed pitchers, despite a lower batting average. However, he also owns a .373 batting average with 16 home runs and 34 RBI’s at Chase Field.

I’d put money on him going yard in the Wild Card game.
