2. Baez implodes
This doesn’t feel bold at all. Pedro Baez has not been as good as his overall season statistics would have you think.
For the season, he owns a 2.95 ERA and a 0.875 WHIP. But, those numbers change at the end of the season. In August, his ERA was 3.38 and in the last month, it was over 10. But, more importantly, Baez owns a 6.52 ERA in his previous postseason appearances.
The Dodgers are under the impression that he has resolved whatever issues he was facing late in the season and the term “major role” has been used in reference to his role in the postseason.
Baez is not an Andrew Miller (or, an Archie Bradley) and he will implode against the Diamondbacks.
