Kershaw is clearly better than Diamondbacks game one starter Taijuan Walker. But, the D-backs pitching staff as a whole has arguably been better.

One through five, according to Baseball Reference’s Wins Above Average metric, is the best in baseball while the Dodgers come in at sixth.

The D-backs have two staff aces and the Dodgers have Alex Wood, who has lost velocity and Yu Darvish, who has been anything but a guarantee since coming to Los Angeles from the Texas Rangers in a trade.

Edge: Diamondbacks
