Comeback Player of the Year: Zack Greinke

Sometimes a player is a deemed a comeback player because they came back stronger than ever from an injury.

But this time around, I am giving this award to the Arizona Diamondbacks $206 million dollar man. Zack Greinke struggled in his first season with Arizona in 2016. He was supposed to lead the D-backs to the promise land. Instead, Greinke compiled an ERA above four.

But Greinke returned to form in a big way. The right hander established himself once again as one of the best pitchers in the NL. In 2017, Greinke went 17-7 with a 3.20 ERA and is in contention for the CY Young Award.

Yes, his postseason starts did not go as planned, but that should take nothing away from Greinke’s stellar 2017 campaign.
