Diamondbacks lose the series against the Goliath Coors Field Rockies
The Diamondbacks were unable to capitalize on their momentum heading into their series against the Colorado Rockies. Arizona kept up their poor play in Colorado, but rallied to save the series/season in Colorado by winning Sunday’s game. They lost 2 of 3 to the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde team. The Dbacks had a lot of positives in the series besides their win Sunday. Meanwhile, the bullpen struggled again on Friday and Saturday.
Friday: Diamondbacks lose to Rockies 9-4
The Dbacks had magical Tyler Gilbert on the mound to make his 2nd career MLB start. He was unable to hold the Rockies hit-less though. He still pitched really well for his first time pitching in Coors Field. In 5 innings, he gave up 4 ERs, 1 walk, and had 2 K’s. The Dbacks actually were tied 4-4 when our bullpen came in.
Brett de Gues was not making the Rockies hitters guess much. In 2/3 of an inning, he gave up 2 hits, 2 runs, and 2 walks. Meanwhile, the Rockies added three more runs that weren’t charged to Matt Peacock due to an Ahmed error.
On the flip side, the offense had a tiny bit of life thanks to Rojas, Marte, Cabrera. Rojas and Cabrera both went 2/5 with Rojas also contributing 2 RBI’s. Marte went 2/4 with a RBI, Run, HR, and walk.
