Diamondbacks win Sunday but lose series vs Rockies

Zac Gallen delivered Saturday but bullpen couldn’t hold up, lose 5-2
Zac has gone through the gauntlet this year in terms of injuries and poor pitching. He’s struggled a lot and has rarely shown the Gallen-pitching that we fell in love with from 2019-20. Saturday, he showcased vintage Gallen.
Gallen pitched magnificently in hitter-heaven Coors Field. Zac pitched 7 spotless innings of 3-hit, 1-walk, 9-K’s ball. It was a true beauty. He reminded us of how talented he truly is and will be again. Sadly, he did not get the win.
The bullpen only needed to pitch 2 innings to secure a 2-0 win. Unfortunately, Noe Ramirez and J.B. Wendelken combined to give up 5 runs in 1.2 innings. The final blow was a three-run walk-off home run by Elias Diaz. One day, our bullpen will be able to hold a 2-0 lead. One day.
For the offense, it was a rather quiet night as they were mostly shut down by Kyle Freeland. Ketel Marte went 3/4 with a double and RBI. Varsho homered yet again on his way to going 2/4 with a run and RBI.
