The Battle of the Zac’ks will determine the best Zac in the NL

Bally Sports Arizona. 63-62. 7:05 ET. 42-85. 8. Friday, Aug 26th. 6.

Zac Gallen takes the mound for the Diamondbacks coming off a wonderful start this past Saturday in Colorado. He pitched 7 shut-out innings and looked like the Zac from 2019/20. He will seek to build off that start and continue Thursday night against the powerful Phillies lineup. His stat-line is 1-7, 4.59 ERA, 96 K’s. The Phillies have not faced Gallen much before.

Meanwhile, for the Phillies, Zach Eflin starts on Thursday night. He’s a hot/cold pitcher who will throw amazing one start and be atrocious the next. He’s been their #4 starter for most of the season. Let’s hope he’s on a cold night. His stat-line is 4-7, 4.17 ERA, and 99 K’s.

The Dbacks have some experience against him. Ketel Marte and Christian Walker both have 2 hits in their career against him over 9 combined at-bats. On the flip side, Carson Kelly, David Peralta, and Nick Ahmed are hit-less in their careers against him.
