Taylor Widener tries to lead the Diamondbacks to victory against Nola

8. 6. 7:05 ET. 63-62. . 42-85. Bally Sports Arizona. Friday, Aug 27th

Taylor Widener pitches for the Dbacks against the Phillies on Friday. He looks to build off his most recent start which was a rather weird one. During his start on Sunday, he got the win but also had 5 walks to 5 K’s. He allowed 1 hit and pitched 5 innings. It was a day of 5’s for him. Let’s hope he can limit the walks but keep the scoring to zero against the Phillies and Bryce Harper. Widener’s stat-line is 2-1, 4.34 ERA, 60 K’s.

Opposing the Diamondbacks will be Phillies Ace Aaron Nola. Fun fact about Nola is that he is the brother of Padres catcher Austin Nola. Aaron’s had a solid but not up to his standards season so far. He’s given up some large amounts of runs in games. Then, he’s been a shut-down pitcher for other games. On the season, his stat-line is 7-7, 4.33 ERA, 174 K’s.

The Phillies offense struggled in their game against Widener last week. Only Didi Gregorius (Former Dbacks player) and Bryce Harper have gotten a hit off him. Keep it up Taylor! Meanwhile, for the Dbacks, David Peralta, Josh VanMeter, Bryan Holaday, and Asdrubal Cabrera have multiple hits off Nola.
