Madison Bumgarner gets the final match-up between the Dbacks and Phillies

. Bally Sports Arizona. Sunday, Aug 29th. 6. 1:05 ET. 42-85. 8. 63-62

Madison Bumgarner will look to keep up his good pitching against the Phillies on Sunday. He struggled a bit on Tuesday against the Pirates by giving up 4 runs. MadBum still pitched 6 innings and gave the Dbacks a chance to win if they could get their offense going. However, MadBum will be looking to replicate his success against the Phillies last week.

Last week, he went 8 innings of 1-run ball and completely dominated the Phillies. I’m positive he is determined to do the same on Sunday and get back on track. His stat-line for the season is 7-8, 4.17 ERA, 98 K’s.

The blossoming left-handed starter is pitching for the Phillies on Sunday. He started the season in the bullpen but has pitched great since moving to the rotation. Yet, Ranger struggled against the Dbacks last week. He only went 4.2 innings and gave up 8 hits, 3 ERs, 4 walks, and 2 K’s. The Dbacks will try to make those numbers worse on Sunday and halt the Phillies push for the playoffs.

Ranger’s stat-line for this year is 5-4, 1.46 ERA, and 60 K’s. The Dbacks were successful at hitting and getting on base off of Ranger. Only Ahmed, Peralta, and Smith struggled against him. Meanwhile, the Phillies have faced MadBum plenty of times. Yet, most of their best batters have zero hits against him. That includes Bryce Harper who is 0-7. Only 1 of their batters have 3 hits off MadBum in their career and that’s J.T. Realmuto.

The Diamondbacks will be having to face a hungry and angry team in the Phillies this weekend. Let’s hope that they can keep the Phillies struggling and come out of it with some wins.

As always,

May the Force be with You…
