Arizona Diamondbacks 2012: A Look at Catcher

With the 2012 season just about 2 1/2 months from kicking off with pitchers and catchers, it is time to take a look at how the Arizona Diamondbacks stack up by position. The next position I will look at is the catcher position. We all pretty much know this is a position settled at starter, but what about after?
Starter: Miguel Montero
Backup: Henry Blanco
Might see an opportunity: Konrad Schmidt
Montero had a fabulous 2011, which included an All-Star appearance. He hit .282 with 18 HR and 86 RBI and improved daily from a defensive standpoint. He deserves a contract extension. As for Blanco, it was iffy if he would return just because he nears retirement and he declined his option. The Dbacks got a deal done anyway. Will be nice to see some stability at the position.
