The Only Two Things I Dislike About Baseball

I want to set the table for this post by saying I have been out of town the last week and a half and have missed every Diamondbacks game since I attended the series finale in Colorado, which seems like a year ago. Believe it or not, it is very difficult to access MLB.TV when camping in the middle of nowhere in Moab, UT. I have been a bad fan lately, but trust me, I tried all I could to watch the games. Now I’m back home in Colorado and ready to watch my team every night again. But wait, mother nature had other plans last night….

Come on, guys. This looks playable! Image: Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

There are only two things I dislike about baseball. The first is when the Diamondbacks leave runners on base, and the other is RAIN OUTS. I finally had the opportunity to sit back, relax, and watch the game last night and sure enough, it got washed away in Arlington. Also, on a somewhat related side note, this series with Texas is so strange. I can’t remember the last time I have seen a home-and-home series featuring a double header and a day off in between. I thought it was a typo when I saw that Arizona was AT Texas. Anyway, I guess if you’re a Rangers fan, the rain out came at a pretty good time because Arizona has been playing great and managed to win two games against Texas in a matter of about eight hours during that DH. The good news is that the weather in Arlington is currently sunny and warm, so that means we will have baseball today, and more importantly, I will get to watch baseball today! I would be perfectly happy if I never see the dreaded “PPD” again this season.

I’ve been gone a while, so I want to get everyone caught up on what is going on. First of all, the Memorial Day camo jerseys were the greatest things I’ve seen. I know most people will disagree with me, but those were good looking. I’m currently wearing my camo D’backs hat that I ordered because for some strange reason, I like to wear Diamondbacks attire when writing articles. Second, this has been a great week for the Snakes because the Rockies have struggled against the Bad News Astros and Arizona has slithered its’ way into a shady, comfortable spot in first place. See what I did with the snake pun there? As I’m writing this, I have MLB.TV opened on my computer and unfortunately, I have to listen to the Fox Sports Southwest broadcast today because the game isn’t on FSAZ. Oh well. Beggars can’t be choosers, I guess.

I hope everyone has had an awesome last week and a half and of course, Go D’backs.
