Diamondbacks fans and Venom Strikes readers have spoken, and Matt Williams has been named the all time third basemen in Diamondbacks history joining Paul Goldschmidt at first base, and Jay Bell at second base.

Now it’s time to vote for the teams all time shortstop! The position has been a weakness over the teams history, but three players Stephen Drew, Alex Cintron, and Tony Bautista stand out above the others.

Drew had several really good seasons in a Diamondbacks uniform. His best season came in 2010 when he hit .278, with a 113 OPS+, 33 doubles, 12 triples, 15 home runs, 61 RBI’s, and 10 stolen bases. He finished second in the N.L. West in triples that year.

He also had a really good year at the age of 25 in 2008. He hit .291 with 21 HR and 67 RBI’s, and a 110 OPS+. He also played really good defense at SS.

Alex Cintron’s best season came in 2003 when he hit .317 with 13 HR, 51 RBI’s, and an OPS+ of 112. However his other seasons in Arizona were mediocre at best.

Tony Batista hit .273 with an OPS+ of 112, but his best seasons didn’t come in Arizona. I know who I would vote for.

It’s up to you! Vote in our poll to decide the Diamondbacks all time SS! Voting ends on March 2nd!
