Goldschmidt Gets to Lincecum Again

The Arizona Diamondbacks Paul Goldschmidt probably doesn’t wish to face the San Francisco Giants Tim Lincecum every night, however he might want to consider the wish given the fact that not only did Goldschmidt hit his first Major League Baseball home run off of Lincecum, he tattooed him again last night for a deep shot, now giving him six home runs on the season, two of them off of Lincecum.

I am fairly certain it won’t be too soon for Lincecum the next time they face each other.  Lincecum, the reigning Cy Young Award winner in the National League, must be showing something to Goldschmidt that he can see well.  Goldschmidt is now 3-6 against Lincecum, with two home runs and four RBI.

If you think about it, those at-bats by Goldschmidt against Lincecum prove he belongs in the majors and just really can’t ever see him going back.  Goldschmidt will have his struggles just like every one else at times, but there is no doubt he can hit MLB pitching.  He has seen the best and hit the best.  Let’s not forget he also hit a mammoth shot off of the Philadelphia Phillies Cliff Lee.  He knows what he is doing.  He is young and will make mistakes, but his positives far outweigh the negatives.  Welcome to the big leagues Mr. Goldschmidt!
