The Arizona Diamondbacks were happy to receive a breakout performance by starting left-fielder Jason Kubel, who blasted three home runs, in a 12-3 victory over the visiting Houston Astros on Saturday evening.

Kubel started off his night by belting a two-run shot in the top of the first inning off of Houston starter Dallas Keuchel, putting the snakes up 2-0.

He would add a three-run shot off of Keuchel in the top of the fourth inning and a solo home run off of reliever Enerio Del Rosario in the top of the sixth inning. He would finish the evening with his first three-run homer game of his career, and drive in six runs on the evening.

That would be plenty of offense for Arizona’s most consistent starter Wade Miley, as he would pick up his 11th victory of the season, giving up only one run and four hits in seven innings, striking out a career high nine batters.

It was a dominant performance from the snakes, one that has been missing from the squad since the all-star break.
