My Head Is Full Of Random Diamondbacks Thoughts

The season just started, no I naturally have a lot of random things that have caught my attention. If you’re looking for structure to these thoughts, you won’t find it here…

First of all, I love day games because it gives me an excuse to not be paying attention in photo journalism class right now. My professor doesn’t know MLB.TV is open on my computer, so I’m trusting that you guys won’t rat me out!

Okay, here we go. 2014 is a really bad year to pitch for the Arizona Diamondbacks and/or have an elbow. Injuries to starting pitchers are always frustrating, but when it involves Patrick Corbin…even worse. Although I’m not a huge David Hernandez fan, his injury is also really unfortunate. You can add Daniel Hudson in this mix too because he’s been out for like 20 seasons. This is a time when other guys really to step up and fill Corbin size shoes. I’m looking at you, Wade and Trevor!

Bullpen problems are starting again and the revolving door continues. Addison Reed was able to settle down to get his first save Tuesday night, which was good. However, he dodged some defensive errors and some hard hit balls. Maybe it’s good that the bullpen is getting the struggles out of their system now, though. Better now than in October.

I’m expecting more from Chris Owings this season. I’ve been a documented supporter of Owings, but let’s be honest, pop ups need to be caught every time!

How about we just don’t pitch to Buster Posey and Brandon Belt? Cool? Great. Both of them are notorious D’back killers. I wish there was a way for them to have an injury that caused them to miss only games against the Diamondbacks. They can play against other teams, but not Arizona.

The whole instant replay system is becoming too much. I think managers are really taking this privilege for granted and it’s making umpires look bad. It seems like there has been a replay in every game this year, and we are only four days in. This needs to get figured out because I’m not sure how much more I can take.
