Good Morning Diamondbacks Fans! As you are reading this, the 2014 MLB Season has come to an end, and the hot stove season has begun. I am sad just like any baseball fan is that the MLB season is over, but I can’t wait to see what the Snakes do this offseason, and what 2015 will bring.
It pains me to write this, but we here at VenomStrikes would like to congratulate the San Francisco Giants on winning their third world championship in five years. They have built something special by the bay, and it wouldn’t be a stretch to call this run a dynasty.
Game 7 was what every baseball fan wanted, and it defiantly lived up to the hype. Madison Bumgarner cemented himself as the greatest World Series pitcher in the history of this great game, and in my mind the Giants ace is the best postseason pitcher ever. He pitched five innings of shutout relief to earn his first career save in a 3-2 game 7 victory over the Royals.
Without Bumgarner, the Giants never would have reached this point! I’ve seen him three times in person including Opening Day 2014 and his stuff is nasty. The Giants also got plenty of timely hitting from Pablo Sandoval, and Hunter Pence. Bruce Bochy has cemented his case for the hall of fame. He is a great manager.
With that sadly the 2014 season has come to a close. But look on the bright side! Spring Training is only 113 days away, and Opening Day 2015 against the Giants at Chase Field is only 158 days away!
Meanwhile five Dbacks have been nominated for GIBBY’s (Greatness in Baseball Yearly Awards). Paul Goldschmidt, Aaron Hill, Jake Lamb, A.J. Pollock, and Miguel Montero. Go vote for them on Dbacks.com!
