Diamondbacks Announce 2015 Non-Roster Invitees For Spring Training

The 2015 Cactus League season is almost here, and today the Arizona Diamondbacks announced who will make up the roster when the team heads to Salt River Fields on February 19th, including 23 non-roster invitees that will be trying to impress the major league coaching staff. Here are the details from an official Dbacks press release:

“The Arizona Diamondbacks’ fifth Spring Training at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick begins on Feb. 19:

Thursday, February 19         Pitchers and catchers report.

Friday, February 20             First workout for pitchers and catchers.

Tuesday, February 24          Position players report.

Wednesday, February 25      First full-squad workout.

Workouts are open to the public, and fans may park in the Desert Lot on the north side of the complex, which is best accessed via 90th Street off of Via de Ventura.

The D-backs will face the Arizona State University baseball team in the inaugural game of the Collegiate Baseball Series on Tuesday, March 3 at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick at 3:10 p.m. The D-backs will kick off the Cactus League exhibition season the next day on Wednesday, March 4, as the visitor against the Colorado Rockies at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick at 1:10 p.m. Tickets for Spring Training may be purchased at dbacks.com/spring.

Chip Hale is in his first season as Manager. His coaching staff includes Glenn Sherlock (Bench Coach), Mike Harkey (Pitching Coach), Mel Stottlemyre, Jr. (Bullpen Coach), Turner Ward (Hitting Coach), Mark Grace (Assistant Hitting Coach), Dave McKay (First Base Coach), Andy Green (Third Base Coach), Ariel Prieto (Coach/Interpreter) and Mike Fetters (Quality Control Coach).

The club’s 40-man roster is currently at 40 players:

Right-handed pitchers (15): Chase Anderson, Enrique Burgos, Trevor Cahill, Josh Collmenter, Rubby De La Rosa, Randall Delgado, Jeremy Hellickson, Daniel Hudson, Evan Marshall, Kevin Munson, Addison Reed, A.J. Schugel, Matt Stites, Allen Webster and Brad Ziegler.

Left-handed pitchers (6): Andrew Chafin, Will Locante, Vidal Nuno, Oliver Perez, Robbie Ray and Matt Reynolds.

Catchers (2): Tuffy Gosewisch and Oscar Hernandez.

Infielders (8): Nick Ahmed, Brandon Drury, Paul Goldschmidt, Aaron Hill, Jake Lamb, Chris Owings, Cliff Pennington and Yasmany Tomas.

Outfielders (6): Socrates Brito, Ender Inciarte, David Peralta, A.J. Pollock, Cody Ross and Mark Trumbo.

Disabled List (3): Bronson Arroyo, Patrick Corbin and David Hernandez.

The club’s 23 non-roster invitees are comprised of 10 pitchers, 5 catchers, 6 infielders and 2 outfielders:

Right-handed pitchers (8): Jake Barrett, Blake Beavan, Aaron Blair, Archie Bradley, Tim Crabbe, Yoan Lopez, JC Ramirez and Braden Shipley.

Left-handed pitchers (2): Justin Marks and Dan Runzler.

Catchers (5): Blake Lalli, Peter O’Brien, Jordan Pacheco, Matt Pagnozzi and Mark Thomas.

Infielders (6): Danny Dorn, Nick Evans, Walter Ibarra, Nick Punto, Jamie Romak and Danny Worth.

Outfielders (2): Nick Buss and Ben Francisco.”
