Good Afternoon Arizona Diamondbacks’ fans and Venom Strikes readers! The World Series has shifted to New York and Citi Field where the Mets are faced with a must win game to avoid being down 3-0.
The Mets had a chance to steal home field advantage before being shellacked in game 2 by Johnny Cueto and the Kansas City Royals offense.
The Royals got to young stars Matt Harvey and Jacob deGrom in Games 1 and 2 who clearly looked like their running out of velocity.
Tonight, Kansas City has a chance to face Noah Syndergaard otherwise known as “Thor”. The Royals will counter with a young flame thrower of their own, Yordano Ventura.
The game begins at 5:00 P.M. Arizona time and can be seen on FOX.

Paul Goldschmidt, A.J. Pollock Named to Sporting News N.L. All Star Team-Sporting News
The Sporting News released their 2015 National League and American League All Star Teams and two familiar names are on the list for the senior circuit.
Paul Goldschmidt was named for the second time by Sporting News at first base after previously named in 2013.
Goldy finished the 2015 season with a .321/.435/.570 slash line, 33 HR, 111 RBI and a 8.8 Baseball Reference War. He was the leader of the N.L.’s highest run scoring offense.
As pointed out in my gold glove nominees post, Goldschmidt was as valuable, if not more valuable on defense. According to the SABAR Defense Index, Goldschmidt recorded 9.4 DRS in 2015.
Its clear that Goldschmidt is one of the best and most consistent all-around players in baseball, and he is only going to grow his legacy in the coming years. He is a treat to watch!
Adrian Gonzalez of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Anthony Rizzo of the Chicago Cubs also received votes.
A.J. Pollock has taken his game to the next level, and is closing in on “Goldy status.” After a breakout 2014 campaign, Pollock had an even better 2015 finishing with a .315/.367/.478 slash line with 20 HR, 39 stolen bases, and a 7.4 Baseball Reference WAR. Not to mention, he covers so much ground in center-field.
Carlos Gonzalez of the Rockies, Jason Heyward of the Cardinals, Ryan Braun of the Brewers, Yoenis Cespedes of the Mets, and Matt Kemp of the Padres also received votes.
Its only a matter of time before the D-backs become an elite team in the MLB and it’s largely due to the team’s All-Star duo of Goldy and Pollock!
Now its time for the Daily Dose of articles that you might have missed!
